Be prepared to discuss your particular project and what you have learned during your interview at July 17, 2008 judging.

Each member is to exhibit a picture of themselves with their place setting at the fair (Non-competitive). This picture will be taken at the judging in July. Each member is to participate in the 4-H Food and Nutrition Skill-a-thon at the fair to be eligible for placings and awards. ALL FOODS PROJECT MEMBERS ARE TO BRING COMPLETED PROJECT BOOKS TO JUDGING and PROJECTS SHOULD BE COMPLETED FOLLOWING PROJECT GUIDELINES STATED IN PROJECT BOOK. All food members are to use the new My Pyramid for menu planning. For judging in July, you will need to bring a food that you have prepared from a recipe in your 4-H book or from another source. Please note that the food item you bring is a sample of the skills you have learned in food preparation by taking this project. The food is evaluated by the judge and is a small portion of the total judging process. You will also be evaluated on the various activities you completed in the project, what you know about food preparation and your general knowledge of nutrition.
