Asian Longhorned Beetle Found in Ohio; OSU Extension Offers Information Hotline
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Agriculture today (6/17) announced the first discovery of Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) in Ohio. An exotic, invasive insect that kills maples and other trees, ALB was found in Bethel, Clermont County, in southwest Ohio.
Private Applicator Pesticide Re-certification
Your three year recertification training must include the following: 1 hour minimum Core; 1/2 hour minimum update training for each category for which you hold certification; A minimum of 3 total hours training (remaining hours can be in any approved category training)

Original CARTEEN Program began in Brown County
In 1987. with the support network of Becky Cropper (Brown County OSU Extension 4-H Educator), volunteer teen leaders, the juvenile probate court, and the Ohio Highway Patrol, the CARTEEN Program began.
Dining With Diabetes Classes to Be Offered
The Ohio State University Extension Office, Brown County, will be offering a Dining With Diabetes Class series, March 9, 16, and 23 at the Georgetown United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 217 S. Main Street in Georgetown, Ohio. The series is open to those with diabetes, their family members and caretakers. Participants must attend all three classes.

Classes
Classes teach participants about nutrition, meal planning, food shopping and food safety. The target audiences for the program are adults with limited resources. The Family Nutrition Program is sponsored by a grant of the Midwest Region Food and Consumer Service, United States Department of Agriculture.
