The Brown County Junior Leaders is open to any 4-H youth once they turn 14. Junior Leaders (JLs) is a service learning group for teens who want to develop their leadership skills. Teens involved in Junior Leaders will be helping with various 4-H programs throughout the year such as the 4-H 5K, project judging, and school enrichment programs. Additionally, they will be developing their own community service projects.
Meetings are currently being set on a month by month basis. Any teen who would like to receive email notification of meetings should contact Christy by calling the Extension Office or emailing her at To date the JLs have been working on developing service projects, went on a Ski Trip to Perfect North with Scioto and Jackson County and are planning to attend the Ohio 4-H Conference in March. Additionally, they are currently working to develop presentations to promote 4-H during Brown County 4-H Week in March.
