  2. 4-H Shooting Sports Members Call Out the Sheriff’s Department

    “Are you sure they have enough ammunition for us?” “I don’t think there is enough for us” joked one sheriff’s deputy as they watched Brown County 4-H Shooting Sports Team Havoc compete.  On Saturday, October 23rd, members of 4-H Team Havoc competed against members of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in a Steel Challenge, something they hope to make an annual event.

  4. Brown County Junior Fair Sale Bill 2018

    The 2018 Brown County Junior Fair Sale Bill is now available. The Friday Sale will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the beef cattle sale. The order of the sale will be: Market Steers, Dairy Beef Feeder, Feeder Calves. The Small Animal Sale will begin at 4:00 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the beef sale. The order of the small animal sale will be: Ducks, Single Fryer Chickens, Meat Pen Chickens, Turkeys, Geese,  Single Fryer Rabbits, Meat Pen Rabbits.

  9. 4-H Cultivates Healthy Eating Fanatics

    The 4th H in 4-H stands for Health and we pledge our Health to better living. On Saturday March 6th, utilizing the Eastern Brown High School foods lab, a group of sixteen 4-H’ers in Brown County did just that at the C.H.E.F. Day Camp. C.H.E.F. stands for Cultivating Healthy Eating Fanatics and was a chance for youth to get hands-on experience in the kitchen.

    Returning Volunteer training for tonight CANCELLED!

    Due to the storms, the fairgrounds is without power. With the estimated time from Duke to restore power at 24-36 hours we are canceling tonight's training. The Extension office is also closed at this time.
