
Trish is the SNAP-Ed Program Assistant for OSU Extension Brown County. The SNAP-Ed program is a free nutrition education program serving low-income individuals and families in Ohio. This program is funded by the Food Nutrition Service's (FNS) branch of the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). In the state of Ohio, SNAP-Ed has developed as a partnership between the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services and Ohio State University Extension. The goal is to improve, within a limited budget, the likeihood of families and individuals who are receiving food assistance benefits (formerly known as food stamps) to make healthy food choices and to choose active lifestyles. SNAP-Ed also works with youth audiences to teach obesity prevention and nutrition education. Trish is currently partnering with Adams/Brown Head Start, Adams/Brown Senior Nutrition, Brown County Public Preschool, Western Brown Local School District, and RULH Local School District to bring nutrition education to Brown County Seniors and youth.
